  • ADEPT Clinical Leadership Fellowships
    • ‘Achieve, develop, explore programme for trainees’
    • Provides senior doctors in training an opportunity to take time out of programme for 1 year to work in an apprenticeship model with senior leaders in host organisations in Northern Ireland to develop organisational and leadership skills.
  • ENGAGE programme
    • Clinical leadership and improvement programme for senior trainees
    • Aims to challenge, develop and support doctors and dentists in their final year of specialty training to ensure that they are prepared to lead effectively so that they can influence, shape and improve the delivery of high quality patient-centred care.
  • STEP, STEPWest and FirstSTEP programmes
    • Quality improvement and leadership programme
    • Includes online Institute of Health Improvement modules, poster presentation and face to face evening seminars
  • EQUIP programme
    • Quality improvement programme for GP trainees
    • Follows the RCGP QI curriculum

    • Novel role supporting RQIA’s hospital inspection teams to better engage with junior doctors

  • The North West Leadership School
    • Trainee-led schools offering events and training
    • Split across three schools: Cheshire and Merseyside, Greater Manchester and Cumbria and Lancashire
  • HEE North West Postgraduate Module in Medical Leadership
    • Open to GP trainees and ST4+ in other specialties
    • Delivered in collaboration with the Royal College of Physicians and Edge Hill University
    • Credit accrued is at masters level, allowing a candidate to continue towards an MSc (requires self-funding)

LeaP – Leadership Programme for Trainee Doctors

  • Comprises of classroom training days across one year of postgraduate training
  • Aims to equip trainees with the relevant leadership and management competencies required by their specialty curricula

East Midlands Leadership and Management Programme

  • Bespoke programme offered to specialty trainees across the East Midlands
  • Tier 1 comprises of 6 full days of teaching
  • Tier 2 comprises of a 10-week modular course, delivered and funded in conjunction with Northampton General Hospital (in development)
